Apply the Olaplex No 0 intensive bond building treatment to dry hair, going section by section to ensure full coverage. Coat the hair from root to tip until it feels damp but not soaking wet. Allow to process for 10 minutes before applying No. 3 Hair Perfector over the top (do not rinse the No. 0 out!), then follow the instructions on the bottle of No. 3 to complete the treatment. If you are trying this brand out for the first time, rather than making a top-up purchase, we sell Olaplex kits which contain both No. 0 and No. 3 together.

About the Brand
When you buy Olaplex online at Editors’ Pick, you’re getting not just indulgent, salon-quality haircare, but also a product that’s backed by scientific research. Loved by top stylists and celebrities alike, this iconic bond building hair treatment is all based around the discovery of Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate, an exclusive-to-Olaplex ingredient which repairs damage to hair at a molecular level by building a physical ‘bridge’ across broken di-sulfide bonds. The result is stronger, smoother hair – and the improvement is permanent!
FAQ
Can I use the No. 0 Olaplex bond building treatment alone?
It’s not recommended. While the No. 0 formula will repair your hair, it becomes less effective as the hair dries out, and the watery formula dries fairly quickly. Putting the creamier No. 3 formula over the top keeps the hair damp for much longer, allowing both the No. 3 treatment and the highly-concentrated No. 0 treatment to find and fix as many damaged hair bonds as possible.
How often should Olaplex treatment be done?
Olaplex is designed as a weekly hair treatment, but can be used 2-3 times per week on hair that is severely compromised. Wondering how often to use Olaplex bonding oil, or their serum? Some of our Olaplex sets include less-intensive products such as shampoo, conditioner or styling aids (e.g. the bonding oil), and most of these can be used on a daily basis.
For application instructions related other products in the Olaplex hair repair system, such as how much Olaplex bonding oil to use or whether their purple shampoo is right for your hair color, check the product description of the specific Olaplex product you’re interested in or drop us an email.
Which Olaplex products should I start with?
Whether you are treating yourself or putting together an Olaplex gift set for someone else, if you want to achieve maximum repair in the shortest possible timeframe, we’d recommend the following Olaplex bundle: No. 0 Olaplex Intensive Bond Building Hair Treatment, No. 3 Olapex Hair Perfector, No. 8 Olaplex Bond Intense Moisture Mask.
The No. 3 is the original and bestselling Olaplex product (one bottle is sold every 3 seconds!), the No. 0 is a booster which dramatically enhances the effects of the No. 3, and the No. 8 hair mask is a great way to continue repairing and softening your hair after you’ve shampooed the other two products out.
Of course, you can also add other products into your Olaplex bundle based on your specific hair care routine or styling needs. For example, if you already use a hair oil, then swapping it out for Olaplex’s No. 7 Bonding Oil is a fantastic way to get even more repair out of your usual haircare regimen.
What happens if I leave on Olaplex bond repair system too long?
There’s absolutely no harm to leaving Olaplex in your hair for longer than the standard processing time, and in fact, you may see better results if you do! For as long as your hair remains damp, the Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate will be seeking out and repairing damaged bonds to improve your hair’s health. Olaplex reviews have noted excellent improvements when leaving the No. 3 Olaplex bond building treatment in for 30-90 minutes instead of the minimum 10 minute processing time.
Just note that it is not recommended to sleep with Olaplex in, as there is a risk of the product ending up in your eyes.
